What We Do

Four Projects.
One Calling.

Each project is a direct response to a specific need — physical, social, and spiritual. Together they form a holistic mission to serve India's most forgotten people with the love of Jesus.

Project 01

Children & Orphan Welfare

Every child deserves a home and a future.

Children studying and smiling at the CHART children's home

India has millions of orphaned and abandoned children — many of whom end up on the streets, vulnerable to trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. CHART International's Children's Home provides a safe, loving, and structured environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Our children receive three meals a day, quality education, healthcare, and — most importantly — the experience of family. House parents and staff pour their lives into each child, ensuring they know they are deeply loved and valued by God. Psalm 68:5 declares that God himself is "a father to the fatherless" — and we are privileged to be His hands and feet.

Many of our children have gone on to complete secondary school, attend university, and build professional careers. What begins as rescue becomes restoration — and restoration becomes a legacy that reaches the next generation.

Project 02

Widows Empowerment

Restoring dignity. Building independence.

Indian women learning sewing and vocational skills

In many parts of India, widowhood means destitution. When a woman loses her husband, she often loses her home, her income, and her standing in the community. The Bible is clear about God's heart for widows — Isaiah 1:17 commands us to "defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow."

CHART International's Widows Empowerment programme provides each widow with a sewing machine and comprehensive skills training. Through this simple but powerful gift, women who had nothing are able to earn a living, provide for their children, and stand with dignity in their communities.

Beyond the practical, we walk alongside these women spiritually — offering community, prayer, and the assurance that they are seen and loved by a God who calls himself their defender. Many have come to faith through this programme, and several have become leaders in their local churches.

Project 03

Lepers Welfare

Loving the untouchable, just as Jesus did.

Compassionate care and medical support for leprosy patients in India

In India, leprosy is not just a disease — it is a social sentence. Those diagnosed are often cast out of their families and communities, forced to live in isolated colonies with little access to food, medicine, or human connection. Society calls them untouchable. Jesus called them neighbours.

In Mark 1:41, when a man with leprosy came to Jesus, He did not turn away. He reached out His hand and touched him — an act of radical, scandalous love. That same love drives our Lepers Welfare programme. We visit leprosy colonies regularly, bringing food packages, medicine, wound care, and the simple but powerful message that they are not forgotten.

We believe that sharing the love of Jesus means going where others will not go, touching those others will not touch, and staying when others walk away. Many in the colonies have never heard the gospel. Through our visits, we share the hope of Christ and have seen remarkable transformations — not just physical, but spiritual.

Project 04

Village Gospel Outreach

Taking the Word of God to those who have never heard.

Gospel outreach meeting in an Indian village

India is home to 1.4 billion people — yet only 2% have ever heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hundreds of thousands of villages remain completely unreached, with no church, no Bible, and no one to tell them that God loves them. Romans 10:14 asks the question that drives everything we do: "How can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

CHART International's Village Gospel Outreach sends trained evangelists and church planters into these unreached communities. They do not just visit — they live among the people, learn the local language, build relationships, and earn the right to share the hope they carry. Through open-air meetings, home visits, and discipleship groups, entire villages are being transformed.

We also believe deeply in the power of God's Word. Every new believer receives a Bible in their own language — because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). A Bible placed in a new believer's hands is not just a book; it is a lifeline, a foundation, and a legacy that will outlast us all.

Partner With Us

Every project depends on the generosity of people who believe that the gospel changes lives — and that love must be shown in action. Your gift today will feed a child, equip a widow, bring medicine to a leprosy colony, or place a Bible in the hands of someone hearing about Jesus for the very first time.
